So hot, what to do, what to do?

Oh what a stinker it was today! With a very rare whole weekend off, and having done all my housework, and catch up stuff yesterday, I woke up thinking, mmm.....what to do today? Well obviously an early stroll to the beach and dip in the water was in order before the temp cranked up, and then I spent a few hours making basil pesto. Mmm...

Last summer Nicole and I made a small batch of basil pesto from homegrown basil and vowed to grow bucketloads of it this year for the same purpose.

Thank god we've got a little helper in the kitchen.

Well, yep, I'd say bucketloads is about right! We harvested the first lot today and made 8 times the recipe, which gave us 13 jars of basil pesto to die for, and if all goes to plan, we should be able to do the same another 2 times, which will give us all enough to see us through to next summer.

You gotta love homemade stuff, and what a great activity for a stinker where you can't do much else!
