My Creative Space.....

Today I am joining in with My Creative Space over at Kirsty's place. It's been a while since I've joined in, but we've been busy and away more than we've been home in the last month. For me today was predominantly about Wall Art.

We have an order for a series of 3 wall arts for a customer (Peppi) who wants to pick the order up on Saturday at Red Hill market, just in time for her birthday.

The main fame in the middle is 'Bonsai' print and the outer 2 are 'Delft' from Ink and Spindle.

What do you think? Happy Birthday for Saturday Peppi!

New fabrics and designs.....

Finally we are reaching the end of our production list, in preparation for our 2 big events this month. I thought it was time to share a few pics of some of our new fabrics and designs that will be available for the first time at Magnolia Square (next week!) and Bowerbird Bazaar in Adelaide the following week.

Kids beanbags have been very popular for us and we have decided to add a few new fabrics and designs to our range, including this red elephant hand screen printed fabric from Umbrella Prints, on a quality denim fabric, with red cord base. This is my personal favourite!

These are a few of the other new kids beanbag designs, from the more stylish to the more fun.

This funky wine coloured fabric above is a screen printed linen/cotton blend from Scandinavia, and is pictured with a 'Fan' fabric also from Umbrella Prints.

Following the success of introducing some of the Ink & Spindle hand screen printed fabrics to our range, we have now added 3 new designs/colourways, which are Seeds in charcoal, Rooftops in charcoal, and Bonsai in deep red. Tough decision, but I think the Seeds in charcoal might just be my new favourite fabric from the Ink & Spindle range.
We will be posting more pics of new designs in the next few days, but in the meantime, hope to see you at Mornington Racecourse market tomorrow!

My Creative Space....

It's been way too long since I've played along with Kirsty's My Creative Space, so here I am to join in on the fun!

There's actually lots going on at Mookah, but at the same time not a lot. It's all about ordering more, more, more fabric, marking, cutting and making lots of product in preparation for the two big events we have lined up for next month. But more about that in another post.

This is one of the not so little packages that arrived today from Ink & Spindle, our current favourite fabric supplier (suck suck). It included our usuals as well as 3 new additions, including Seeds in charcoal, Bonsai in Red, and Rooftops in Charcoal (shown below). What do you think?

Maybe tomorrow I'll show you some of our other new fabrics.....

Everyone.......meet Gus!

Everyone ......meet Gus. Another happy Mookah customer!
I first met Gus quite recently at the Foster market, where he impressed not just because of his blonde hair, cute good looks or cheeky grin, but because of his impeccable taste in toys and home decor items.

He was quite taken with a version of our Platypus as seen recently in the Herald Sun Home magazine, and opted for the Orange Bird Pod from our Nature Range, which is one of our most popular items. Apart from that though, if you look in the background, you can see that Gus is also a fan of Ink & Spindle fabrics. My, what class Gus has at such a young age!

Thanks Gus, for sharing.

My Current Favourite Fabrics

I know you've heard me rattling on about them before, but they are worthy of a 2nd mention. Last time I was talking about the range of Ink & Spindle fabrics, I was telling you how my sister sold my brand new not yet made it in the house, 'Rooftops' wall art with fabric designed and hand screen printed by Melbourne textule designer Lara Cameron.

Well finally I've made myself a new one and it has made it to my living room wall.....but I'm not sure that the wall does it justice, so it may have to come and keep me company in my bedroom.

These are some of the other things we've made out of Ink & Spindle fabrics.....throw cushions...

....floor cushions......

And I love it that much that I've saved the selvedges to wrap up our etsy orders with. Greta if you're reading this, this is your etsy order!

I hope you like my current range of favourite fabrics.

My Creative Space.....

It's Thursday today (apparently), so what is happening in My Creative Space I hear you ask?

Well us Mookah girls have been admiring the 'Ink and Spindle' hand screen printed fabrics by Lara, Tegan and Bianca for a while now and a recent custom order request gave us the perfect opportunity to buy some extra and 'play with it'. Yay!

So we made a couple of floor cushions, one from 'Delft' and one from 'Samur', both being deep red on natural cotton/linen blend.

And of course we needed a few throw cushions to match! Aren't they georgous? They look even better with the fabric designs mixed and matched.
Above is the 'Delft' fabric, which was my preference, but the 'Samur' was Nicole's, so everyone was happy.

My absolute favourite Ink & Spindle fabric, is Lara's 'Rooftops' fabric, again deep red on natural. So I got a small quantity with the vision of creating a large piece of wall art for my lounge room wall.....and can i just say it looked fantastic! That's right, past tense. Nicole insisted we take it to the market at Red Hill last Saturday for our display, and while I was in the loo......SHE SOLD IT ON ME!
As a result, I have no photo to show you - yet. There is more fabric on the way and one way or another i WILL get that piece of wall art for my lounge room. To check out all the other creativity going on, hop on over to Kirsty's.
