New additions to the range

Well after a full week supposedly working in the studio, I've got to say we haven't quite produced as much as what we thought we might. 'Why', I hear you ask. Well there is probably a range of reasons, including the fact that there is one very demanding 14 month old that is constantly seeking attention, we've hit a few brick walls along the way and had to visit some experts for advice, I spent a day out sourcing materials, and there seems to be a never ending amount of research, follow up and things to organise or put in place. But hey, that's all supposed to be part of the fun/challenge isn't it? We did take time out to pose for a shot in the new studio though.

This week we tried to concentrate on some items that are part of our home decorating range, which include co-ordinating fabric wall hangings, throw cushions and what we have aptly named 'Mookah Pods'. They do look a little like seed pods or some such, but to the average person, they are what you might call a foot seat, poof, or an ottoman. These ones are made of one of our favourite fabrics.

And following is a selection of some of the items that were produced this week. Gotta love those pods! A kids version is on the way too...

Our first ever craft market is booked for next Saturday (how scary - what if we don't sell anything?) and there is so much still to organise, but tomorrow we are thinking about taking a day off. What do you think?

Where we're at...

Well the business cards have arrived, the woven labels are ready to pick up, the new 'big, big, big' work bench gets picked up tomorrow (thanks Daz!), some markets are booked, the studio is getting there and we started some production in the new studio today. Yippee!

This is a piccie of Nicole replicating the business card design on the wall of the Mookah studio. I will post a photo of the finished product next time...you'll have to wait!

Some of the first items we made were to be part of our soft toy collection for kiddies, and included Magoo the Monkey.....

a couple of birds known as Hooty and Tweet (only Tweet shown).....

and our original Woollybutt.....

This week we will be focusing on producing some samples of the items from our home decorating range. Will keep you posted.

And how could I not mention that our thoughts during this time are with those families that have been affected by the devastating bushfires in Victoria. A few tears have been shed around here just watching/listening to the updates.

The Mookah Studio

We are so excited about Mookah, but frustrated that we can't just get into it! Nicole & family moved last Thursday so most things have revolved around moving them into their new house, unpacking and just getting settled. However we have found a little time to pull apart and clean the garage in preparation for the new Mookah studio, and even slap on a few coats of paint.

This is the studio cleaned out ready to paint....

And this is the studio painted....with a Mookah green feature wall. Watch this space for the Mookah logo....

Ooooh....nothing like a nice bright happy environment to work in!
