These birds were named Brain Peckers by Nicole and I when we were little as we believed that they used to stick their big long beaks either in your ear or up your nose and suck your brains out!

There was 100-200 of these guys in the backyard last week. Anyone else have a fear of brain peckers?
That's hilarious - I shall never be able to look at ibis quite the same way again!!
ReplyDeleteMum and Dad's back paddock used to attract them, particularly when it was wet.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I had no problem with them myself, I had a horse that would go beserk if one landed when he was in the paddock.
Other animals were welcome in with him, but not the birds. I wonder if he'd seen the Hitchcock film?
My ears and brain literally started hurting when I read that!
ReplyDeleteI don't want the brain peckers to come!
