Last summer Nicole and I made a small batch of basil pesto from homegrown basil and vowed to grow bucketloads of it this year for the same purpose.

Thank god we've got a little helper in the kitchen.

Well, yep, I'd say bucketloads is about right! We harvested the first lot today and made 8 times the recipe, which gave us 13 jars of basil pesto to die for, and if all goes to plan, we should be able to do the same another 2 times, which will give us all enough to see us through to next summer.
That looks so delicious. I'm going to have cravings for a good pasta with basil pesto sauce for days now!

ReplyDeleteWe have just been lamenting the premature end to our basil. I can only begin to imagine the GORGEOUS whiff in your kitchen today!
ReplyDeleteThank-you for the reminder of what to do with all my basil before it starts to go to seed. Yuuum.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I wish I had your gusto. For now I'm just feeling so lazy about the house. Pesto has so may uses doesn't it? YUM.
